Building the Foundation for Inclusive Sports
BIDA Games 2025 marked the beginning of a movement.
What started as an inclusive sports event in Muntinlupa City became a powerful demonstration of what communities can achieve when government agencies, volunteers, private organizations, and families unite behind children with disabilities.
More than a sporting event, BIDA Games created opportunities for confidence, belonging, and community while laying the groundwork for a long-term advocacy for inclusive sports in the Philippines.

The People Behind the Numbers
Behind every statistic was a child given the opportunity to participate, compete, and be celebrated. For many participants, BIDA Games provided one of the few opportunities to experience organized sports in an environment designed specifically around accessibility, encouragement, and inclusion.
Families, guardians, volunteers, and community leaders stood alongside the athletes, transforming the event into a celebration of ability rather than disability.

What We Achieved
Inclusive Participation
BIDA Games successfully brought together children with disabilities from all eight barangays of Muntinlupa City, creating a sporting event where every participant could compete regardless of ability. Participants represented multiple disability groups, including intellectual disabilities, orthopedic disabilities, visual impairments, and the Deaf and mute community. The event demonstrated that adaptive sports can be accessible, enjoyable, and empowering for children of all abilities.
Stronger Community Collaboration
Delivering BIDA Games required collaboration across multiple sectors. The organizing committee worked closely with the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO), Muntinlupa City barangays, community leaders, sports consultants, volunteers, corporate sponsors, and partner organizations. Despite challenges in securing formal government partnerships during the election period, community organizations and barangay support ensured the event's success.
Empowered Children
Adaptive sports gave participants an opportunity to build confidence, develop teamwork, strengthen friendships, showcase their talents, and experience healthy competition. For many children, the event reinforced that disability should never define their potential.
Volunteers Who Made It Possible
More than 100 volunteers helped organize, facilitate, and support the event. Youth leaders, civic organizations, families, and community members worked together to create a safe, enjoyable experience for every participant. Their dedication demonstrated the power of volunteerism in creating lasting social impact.
Financial Transparency
₱864,650
Every sponsorship and donation directly supported the delivery of BIDA Games 2025, totaling ₱864,650 in sponsorships and donations raised.
Total event expenses came to ₱858,750, funding athlete meals, sports equipment, venue operations, medical support, transportation, event production, marketing, and volunteer logistics, leaving a remaining project balance of ₱5,900.
In addition to direct funding, media exposure from outlets including SPIN.ph, Philstar, Tribune, Tempo, MADCAP, and Studio Who generated an estimated ₱180,000 in promotional value.
What Went Well
Several outcomes demonstrated the success of the inaugural event: strong support from barangays despite limited LGU involvement, successful participation from children across all eight barangays, surplus food, water, and giveaways distributed to both participants and volunteers, excellent venue selection at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex, strong sponsorship support from businesses aligned with the cause, and effective medical and security assistance throughout the event. Most importantly, every participant was able to enjoy the event safely, with no major injuries or missing participants reported.
Lessons Learned
Every successful movement begins with learning. The organizing committee identified several opportunities for improvement: building formal partnerships with government agencies earlier, improving volunteer deployment before event day, streamlining registration and communication with participants, expanding participation to include more disability categories, increasing guardian involvement throughout the event, and growing BIDA Games into an annual flagship program for JCI Manila through long-term partnerships and Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs).
