Many children with disabilities have limited opportunities to participate in organized sports. Physical barriers, social stigma, and the lack of inclusive recreational programs often prevent them from experiencing the confidence, friendships, and personal growth that sports can provide.
BIDA Games was created to change that by giving differently abled children a platform to showcase their talents, celebrate their abilities, and build stronger connections within their community.
The Challenge
Children with disabilities frequently face barriers to participation beyond the classroom. Many have limited access to inclusive sporting activities, community engagement, leadership opportunities, recognition for their abilities, and supportive environments where they can compete alongside their peers.
Without these opportunities, many children miss experiences that build confidence, independence, and lifelong friendships.
Why Sports Matter
Inclusive sports help children build self-confidence, improve physical health, strengthen teamwork, develop social skills, gain independence, and feel accepted within their community.
Beyond benefiting participants, inclusive sporting events also educate families, volunteers, local governments, and businesses, creating a culture that celebrates ability rather than disability. When Muntinlupa's city government had to step back from BIDA Games 2025 amid the recent local elections, it was the barangays' own Social Services and Development (SSD) units and the Birthright Foundation who stepped forward to keep the event moving, proof of how deeply this cause is already carried by the community itself.
Our Mission
BIDA Games exists to promote inclusivity and empowerment for differently abled children by providing opportunities to participate in sports while inspiring lasting awareness, acceptance, and support throughout the community.
We believe every child deserves the opportunity to play, compete, and be recognized for their abilities: a vision we hope to grow into an annual JCI Manila legacy project, with lasting partnerships across Muntinlupa's barangays and organizations like Special Olympics Pilipinas and the Birthright Foundation.
Our Objectives
Inclusive Participation
Engage at least 240 children with disabilities from all eight barangays of Muntinlupa City through adaptive sports activities that promote confidence, teamwork, and community participation.
Community Collaboration
Bring together all eight barangays of Muntinlupa City, volunteers, families, civic organizations, and local leaders, coordinating closely with the city's PDAO office and each barangay's own focal persons, to deliver an inclusive sporting event that showcases what communities can accomplish when they work together.
Volunteer Leadership
Mobilize more than 100 volunteers to organize, support, and facilitate a safe, meaningful experience for every participant.
Who We Support
Primary beneficiaries include children aged 8–20 years old with disabilities residing across Muntinlupa City's eight barangays. Reaching them meant working directly with Muntinlupa's Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) and meeting with barangay focal persons in all eight barangays to gather feedback and strengthen community involvement from the ground up.
The program supports participants with intellectual disabilities, orthopedic disabilities, visual impairments, and the Deaf and mute community, each one welcomed by their own barangay alongside neighbors, guardians, and volunteers who came out to cheer them on.
Why Your Support Matters
Your support helps provide sports equipment, safe competition venues, meals and refreshments, transportation support, volunteer coordination, recognition and awards, and inclusive recreational opportunities. In Muntinlupa, that support took real shape on the ground: Mayor Ruffy Biazon's office backing the event at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex, and sports consultants Coach Zoren and Sir Alvin helping design games that were safe and accessible for children of every ability.
Most importantly, it gives children the confidence to believe in themselves.
