On April 26, 2025, JCI Manila brought together children with disabilities, their families, volunteers, and all eight barangays of Muntinlupa City for the very first BIDA Games: a day of adaptive sports, community celebration, and belonging at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex.

What began as a city-focused initiative for Muntinlupa's differently-abled children laid the foundation for BIDA Games as an annual movement, the seed of what JCI Manila hopes to grow into a lasting legacy project.

01 — Overview

Event Overview

BIDA Games 2025 was organized to promote inclusivity and empowerment for differently abled children, giving them a platform to showcase their talents through sports and to break barriers and foster a more supportive, understanding, and united community in Muntinlupa City.

It was designed as a healthy sports competition with the purpose of creating lasting awareness and acceptance of differently abled individuals by celebrating their abilities, building their confidence, and encouraging inclusive practices within the community, while inspiring continued support and engagement from both public and private sectors.

02 — The Goal

Objectives

BIDA Games 2025 was designed to give children with disabilities across Muntinlupa City's eight barangays a platform to build confidence, teamwork, and community participation through inclusive sports, uniting barangays, volunteers, and local leaders around a shared event, and mobilizing volunteers to lead and support the day's activities.

03 — The Athletes

The Athletes

Participants were children with disabilities aged 8 to 20, representing every one of Muntinlupa City's eight barangays.

The program welcomed children with intellectual disabilities, orthopedic disabilities, visual impairments, and the Deaf and mute community, accompanied by their families and guardians.

04 — In Action

What Happened During the Event

Collaborate

The committee worked with Muntinlupa's Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) to gather essential information about participants, sought the support of Mayor Ruffy Biazon, and engaged with all eight barangay focal persons to strengthen community involvement.

Correlate

Sports consultants Coach Zoren and Sir Alvin helped design games and activities that were safe, accessible, and enjoyable for children of every ability, keeping inclusivity at the heart of every challenge.

Construct

With the help of friends, families, and dedicated volunteers, the committee executed the program as envisioned, a day filled with joy, energy, and meaningful moments, complete with nutritious meals for all participants.

05 — Working Together

Community Partnerships

BIDA Games 2025 was made possible through partnerships with The Birthright Educators Foundation and Special Olympics Pilipinas, alongside sponsors including JARC Group, VMed Medical Co., Aquabest, Intelligent AI Solutions, Intellicare, Pag-Asa Steel, Pro Health Care, Basta Bakal, Rebisco, Smilee Apparel, Sigi, Studio Who, Summit, and T1.

When Muntinlupa's city government had to step back amid the recent local elections, it was the barangays' own Social Services and Development (SSD) units, alongside these partners, who stepped forward to keep the event moving.

06 — Contributions

Donations

Supporters contributed both cash sponsorships and in-kind donations: from event uniforms and sports equipment to water, snacks, raffle prizes, and media coverage.

These contributions helped provide meals, transportation, and medical support for every participant and volunteer throughout the day.
