BIDA Games 2026: Bridging Inclusivity Through Sports

On June 6, 2026, hundreds of athletes with disabilities, volunteers, families, government agencies, and private organizations gathered at the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA in Las Piñas for one shared purpose: to celebrate ability over disability through sports.

Organized by JCI Manila, BIDA Games 2026 showcased how inclusive sports can empower persons with disabilities while bringing communities together around acceptance, teamwork, and opportunity.

Event Overview

BIDA Games is JCI Manila's flagship inclusive sports event designed specifically for persons with disabilities (PWDs). Athletes from communities across Metro Manila participated in adaptive sporting events that encouraged physical activity, confidence, teamwork, and community engagement.

The event also served as a platform to strengthen partnerships between local governments, disability organizations, volunteers, healthcare providers, schools, and private companies committed to building a more inclusive Philippines.

Objectives

BIDA Games 2026 was designed to promote equal access to sports, encourage healthier and more active lifestyles, and build confidence and self-esteem, while fostering teamwork and leadership, strengthening community partnerships, and creating an annual movement for inclusive sports.

The Athletes

The event welcomed participants representing a wide range of disabilities, including physical disabilities, visual and hearing impairment, intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, mobility impairment, wheelchair users, and amputees.

Athletes came from Metro Manila and neighboring provinces through referrals from Persons with Disability Affairs Offices (PDAOs), schools, and partner organizations.

What Happened During the Event

Adaptive Sports Competitions

Athletes participated in adaptive sporting events that emphasized teamwork, perseverance, sportsmanship, and confidence while providing opportunities to showcase their skills and abilities.

Paralympic Athlete Inspiration Session

Participants heard from accomplished para-athletes who shared stories of resilience, determination, and success. Their experiences encouraged athletes to pursue their dreams and demonstrated that disability is never a barrier to excellence.

Family & Community Engagement

Families, caregivers, volunteers, and community organizations celebrated alongside the athletes, strengthening relationships and promoting greater public awareness of disability inclusion through sports.

Community Partnerships

The event brought together local government units, Persons with Disability Affairs Offices (PDAOs), NGOs, healthcare organizations, schools, corporate sponsors, volunteers, and media partners.

These partnerships helped expand support for inclusive sports beyond a single-day event.

Donations

Supporters contributed both financial and in-kind donations, including sports equipment, medical equipment, event services, and volunteer support.

These contributions helped make participation free and accessible for beneficiaries.
